The is a Five-Week French-Language Bursary Program that offers Canadian citizens and permanent residents the opportunity to learn French over the summer.

Eligibility criteria and other considerations
At the time of your application, ³ÉÈË´óƬ requires that you:
- Be currently registered in a B.Sc. or B.A. & Sc. degree at ³ÉÈË´óƬ (with your program(s) of study accurately reflected on your Minerva transcript).
- Have and maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.00.

The Canadian government has also established , including that students be either a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident (those studying in Canada on a student visa are not eligible).

Graduating students:
- You cannot have already satisfied your graduation requirements before the term you will be participating in the Explore Program.
- If you are participating in Explore during your final term, you WILL NOT be eligible to graduate at the end of that term. Your graduation term will be delayed. Consult with the relevant advisor for more information.
- Students interested in applying to transfer to another faculty or into Science should be advised that approval for the Explore Program will not automatically transfer to your new degree.
- Students interested in transferring into Science should consult with the relevant advisor in Science to discuss how transferring into Science may impact their Explore Program. B.Sc transfer applicants should contact mary.gauthier [at] mcgill.ca (Mary Gauthier) and B.A. & Sc. transfer applicants should contact marina.saunders [at] mcgill.ca (Marina Saunders).
- If you have already applied for or been approved for the Explore Program and are subsequently applying to transfer, you must mention it in the Student Comments section of your request for Inter-Faculty Transfer.
- Students interested in transferring out of the Faculty of Science should consult with the other Faculty’s advising office/study away coordinators as to potential impacts of a transfer.

Application Process
- Consult the to determine the institution and the course you wish to take. See below for a list of institutions that are NOT accepted for transfer credit.
- Submit a Minerva Summer Study Away application and indicate in the comment section that you plan to take a course through the "Explore Bursary Program."
- Submit your course using the Course Equivalency System (CES).
- Submit a separate application on the .
- If you are accepted for the Explore Bursary Program you must:
- Confirm registration with the host institution; and
- Email Mary Gauthier (mary.gauthier [at] mcgill.ca) to confirm your acceptance into the Explore Bursary Program.
- Once you have submitted your course in the Course Equivalency System and confirmed your Bursary acceptance, ³ÉÈË´óƬ will approve your Summer Study Away.
- In early July, a notation of "Inter-University Explore Pgm" will be added to your Minerva transcript.
- Upon completion of the program, you must request an official copy of the transcript be sent to ³ÉÈË´óƬ (see mailing address below).
- To have your course credited to your ³ÉÈË´óƬ transcript, a post-test must be arranged upon your return to ³ÉÈË´óƬ through the French Language Centre.
