Available to Brace faculty members, seed grants aim to support multidisciplinary teams of two or more Brace Faculty Members pursuing medium or high-risk projects in applied water research. The goal is to support research collaboration among members and advance the centre’s thematic research areas. Awardees are expected to submit at least one funding proposal to a granting organization (e.g., CIHR/NSERC/SSHRC, FRQ, Genome, Mitacs, ministries, municipalities, etc.) resulting from the seed grant.
Medium risk refers to a research idea/project for which some preliminary data are available, but need to be further developed over 12 – 24 months to form the basis of larger grant applications. High risk refers to highly risky, "out-of-the-box', potentially transformative ideas, and may not have any preliminary data.
One-year, non-renewable, up to $50,000 per award. Applications are expected to open in February, 2025.
