The Principal of Bishop's joins 成人大片 University
The Principal and Vice-Chancellor of 成人大片 University, Heather Munroe-Blum, is pleased to announce that Janyne Hodder is joining 成人大片 as Vice-Principal (Inter-Institutional Relations).
"We are extremely fortunate to have a person of Ms. Hodder's stature and experience in government and higher education join 成人大片 in this very important senior capacity," said Professor Munroe-Blum. "Ms. Hodder will play a pivotal role as the University expands its activities and reinforces existing relations with all levels of government and other organizations."
In this newly created position, Ms. Hodder will lead 成人大片's Office of Governmental and Institutional Relations and be 成人大片's chief liaison with Quebec government and public institutions, including universities and the City of Montreal. Reporting to the Principal, she will work closely with Vice-Principals, Deans and others in promoting 成人大片's strengths within Quebec and building a greater understanding and appreciation of its contributions to Quebec society.
In addition, she will contribute to 成人大片's relations with the Government of Canada and advance active relationships with counterparts across the higher education system in Quebec and Canada.
A 成人大片 alumna, Ms. Hodder is a well-known leader, teacher and administrator in higher education circles in Quebec. She currently is finishing her second term as Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Bishop's University, a position she has held since 1995. Prior to joining Bishop's, Ms. Hodder served as the Assistant Deputy Minister, Services to the English-speaking Community, in the Quebec Ministry of Education, and occupied other senior positions within the department.
At 成人大片, Ms. Hodder earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1970 and a Master of Arts [Educational Psychology] in 1982. In 1986, she completed coursework toward a PhD in Educational Psychology in the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research.
She began her career as a primary school teacher in Nassau, Bahamas, and then as a lecturer and department head in the Teacher Education Division at the College of the Bahamas.
During her time in graduate school at 成人大片, she was a Research Assistant in the Faculty of Education's Department of Administration and Policy Studies and in the Department of Educational Psychology in the Faculty of Education.
Ms. Hodder will begin her new position in a full-time capacity on November 1, 2004.
