is Adjunct Professor of Cultural Theory at the National University of Ireland, Galway and Distinguished Professor of English Literature at Lancaster University (UK). He is a noted literary critic and author of more than forty books on culture, literary theory and religion. Amongst his best-known books, the most recent include: (2007); (2008); (Minneapolis: University of Minnesota Press, 2008); (2009); and (2010).
