One-Hundred and Seventy-ninth Meeting
Montreal weather records,听dating from the early 19th century,听are held in the听成人大片 University Archives and the McCord Museum.
Thomas McCord (1750-1824)听and John Samuel McCord (1801-1865),听among others, kept detailed weather logs.听This talk considers how the study of听meteorology and climatology听in 19th century Montreal听led to the foundation of the 成人大片 Observatory.
Dr. Victoria Slonosky is Visiting Scholar听Department of Geography.听Climate in the Age of Empire听is published by the听American Meteorological Society.
